Downtown Pittsburgh

Cindy took me first to what is called the strip.  We went in one place that was like a farmer’s market for seafood.  We ordered fresh clam strips, some cole slaw and a mixed lemon drink with no sugar added.  It was all good.

We first walked to the History Center.   This place has stuff from WWII, 18th century,  19th century and early 20th century.   The 4th floor had special collections with a variety of things.   What I liked most was the things from the actual Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood set.  They had the front door part, King Friday and his castle, the tree and 4 of the puppets.  It was so cool to see them up close.

We then walked through downtown to the Allegheny River.  Then walked next to it towards the point seeing the bridges and the 2 stadiums.  What a view.

We reached the point which is where the Monongahela and the Allegheny River merge to form the Ohio River.  A big fountain marks the point.   Pretty cool.

We then walked back a different way through downtown.  We walked by a sign on the street that said Italian Sodas.  I had to go in and get one.  The person working there suggested a raspberry and lemon mixed.  So why not.  Willing to try new things.   It was good.  Cindy got an iced coffee.  Then started walking towards the car.

She then took me to Mount Washington.  We went to one of the lookouts.  What an amazing view.

It looked like a model not a real city.   Just an incredible sight.  We saw one more lookout.  This one had a better view of the merging rivers.

What a great day with great views.
