George in New Orleans

I took George to New Orleans to experience the culture, the food and the architecture of the French Quarter. For lunch I took him to the restaurant The Gumbo Shop to experience Creole food. He had a cup of Chicken Andouille Gumbo and loved it. (He talked about it all day, that is how much he liked it.) I also got a cup of it also and still loved it. I also got the complete Creole dinner and he got a blackened chicken.

My friend Kim was also at New Orleans celebrating her birthday and met up with us before leaving the The Gumbo Shop. We walked along the Mississippi and as we were walking back into the French Quarter we ran into Nicolas Cage. We literally almost bump into him. We were all shocked in disbelief as he walked by with his wife. He does have a house in New Orleans so not that unusual but still shocked us. We tried looking for creme brulee for George since he really wanted to try some but all the good places had either private parties (the place I had some the last time I was in New Orleans and really like it) or was crowded and had a long wait. So we took him to Bourbon street to eat. George and I left New Orleans around midnight. I still really like that place.
