Today we went to go eat at The Brick Pit. Really good BBQ.
Inside there is a lot of writing on the wall.
We then drove through the historic commercial area. Also saw and went into the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
Crossed the boarder into Mississippi.
And walked on the Lighthouse Pier.
We also saw a newer working lighthouse. The Gulfport Harbor Lighthouse build in 2011. Active and maintained by the city government. Designed as a replica of the Ship Island Lighthouse, the tower straddles the entrance to the city’s new marina. Construction of the lighthouse was part of the city’s redevelopment of the harbor area following its destruction by Hurricane Katrina. The light replaces a former skeletal tower. Located at the entrance to the Gulfport Marina.
We then ate at Shaggy’s Harbor Bar and Grill. Had a Cajun pasta with shrimp. It was good. Also some grilled oysters. And a nice view.
We then crossed the boarder into Louisiana.
Saying in a place near Baton Rouge. Night.
